The goal of this tool is to offer the user a fast and cheap way to read news given by an RSS or ATOM feed by tray notifications. To read the news, it will open a browser.

These are the requirements on TrayRSS

R01. It should be possible to add new feeds to the feed list.
R02. It should be possible to remove new feeds from the feed list.
R03. It should be possible to edit the details of feeds from the feed list.
R04. It should be possible to choose the monitored feeds from the feed list. This feeds should be observed in a self-selected period.
R05. New entries of a monitored feed should be displayed in a kind of a tool tip in the system tray.
R06. New entries should alternatively be keeped to watch later, opend in a browser window, or marked as reed. The user should get the possibility to choose.
R07. In order to don’t miss an entry, it should only be marked as reed after e.g. 5 missed flashes in a tool tip. The number of flashes should be user-defined.
R08. The program should only monitor the feeds in user-defined time frames. (e.g. workingtime exclusive lunchtime „9:00-11:30,12:30-18:00“)
R09. The main user interface should be accesable at the system tray. A window should only be displayed to make the configuration more comfortable
R10. The tool has no demand on displaying the feed entry text. A browser should be used to display it.
R11. The tool should be able to handle all ATOM and RSS feed versions.
R12. The tool should save the feed, the entry information and the configuration persistent in the file system.
R13. The running tool should be resource-friendly
R14. It should be possible for the user to start a single request to a feed or to all feeds besides the normal monitoring.

R01. Man soll Feeds neu hinzufügen können
R02. Man soll Feeds löschen können
R03. Man soll Feeds bearbeiten können
R04. Man soll Feeds auswählen können, die in einem gewissen selbst zu definierenden periodischen Takt überprüft werden.
R05. Alle neuen Einträge die aus dem Feed gelesen werden sollen dabei in einer Art Tool Tipp aus dem Tray angezeigt werden.
R06. Diese neuen sollen wahlweise für später aufgehoben werden, im Browser geöffnet werden oder automatisch als gelesen markiert werden.
R07. Damit man nichts versäumt soll ein neuer Eintrag erst nach 5 Einblendungen als Gelesen markiert werden. Die Anzahl soll frei definierbar sein.
R08. Es soll ein oder mehrere Zeitrahmen definiert werden können, in dem das Programm die Prüfungen durchführt (z.B. Arbeitszeit exklusive Mittagspause)
R09. Das Tool soll aus dem Tray heraus bedient werden. Eine eigene Oberfläche ist nur für die Konfiguration notwendig.
R10. Das Tool soll keinen eigenen Feedreader implementieren. Ein Browser soll dafür herangezogen werden.
R11. Das Tool soll mit ATOM und RSS Feeds aller Versionen umgehen können.
R12. Das Tool soll die gewählten Feeds und die Information über die angezeigten Einträge persistent speichern.
R13. Das Tool soll ressourcenschonend sein.
R14. Der User soll das Überprüfen der Feeds oder eines einzelnen Feeds selbst von hand auch anstoßen können.
